Knocking hard against the thin, front door, her Auntie tugged hard on the handle despite knowing it was most likely locked. The shock from pushing so hard caused her to stumble backwards but she managed to keep her balance.

Staring without blinking into her mobile phone screen, Summer checked to see if it was obvious her lips had been stabbed. Once she realised how fat and swollen her lips where, she grabbed herself an ice pack from the first aid box and pressed it gently to them. Wincing in pain, she made her way to her bedroom trying desperately to blank out the harsh reality that her mum was lying dead on the couch. What was she going to do? She no longer had parents. She was alone in a haunted house, her stomach grumbling and her head pounding with worry.
